Chris Egan is a London-based composer whose work encompasses feature film, premium television drama and major international productions. Working across a broad range of genres, he has developed a versatile musical voice and a collaborative approach to storytelling through close partnerships with filmmakers and producers.
His recent scoring credits include Pole to Pole with Will Smith for Disney+, The Prince starring Nicolas Cage and Andy Garcia, the animated feature Fireheart featuring Olivia Cooke, Kenneth Branagh and William Shatner, In the Womb: Animal Babies for Disney+, Apple TV+’s Emmy Award-winning nature series Tiny World, and both seasons of the acclaimed historical drama The Spanish Princess for Starz.
Chris produced and arranged the score for James Marsh’s King of Thieves, composed the source music for both Downton Abbey feature films, arranged the featured song for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and wrote the original songs for ITV’s The Halcyon. His work also includes producing Carl Davis’s landmark score for the restored presentation of Abel Gance’s six-hour silent epic Napoléon, serving as music producer for the acclaimed biopic Cilla, composing the theme and score for the comedy series Man Down, and arranging and producing the songs for Little Birds (Sky Atlantic) and World on Fire (BBC).
As one of Britain’s leading studio conductors, Chris has conducted scores for numerous major motion pictures, including Alien: Romulus, The Flash, Shazam!, The Invisible Man, Hellboy, and Shaun the Sheep: Farmageddon. He also arranged and conducted the orchestra for Above & Beyond’s celebrated Acoustic concert film at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, alongside all three of the group’s Acoustic albums.
Beyond film and television, Chris has made significant contributions to the stage. He composed the score for Eric Roth’s debut play High Noon in London’s West End, created the score for The Bodyguard Musical, now performed worldwide, and provided the arrangements and orchestrations for both the West End and Broadway productions of End of the Rainbow.
