With an Emmy win and a Billboard #1 hit to their name, composers, songwriters, and music producers Sonya Belousova & Giona Ostinelli are known for building unique musical universes around massive IP – turning Netflix’s ONE PIECE and THE WITCHER into two of the most distinctive musical worlds in franchise entertainment.
Their ONE PIECE score earned them an Emmy win for Best Original Song (“My Sails Are Set” feat. Aurora), along with two Emmy nominations, including Best Music Direction & Composition, and an IFMCA nomination for Best Original Score for Television. Sonya & Giona have since expanded that musical universe with ONE PIECE: Into The Grand Line.
Sonya & Giona have worked with the likes of Aurora, The HU, Grammy-winning Serj Tankian (System of a Down), Marcin, Au/Ra, Leo P, Tarja, Bad Wolves, Sophia James, and more.
Their work on Netflix’s THE WITCHER produced “Toss A Coin To Your Witcher,” which soared to No. 1 on Billboard‘s Rock Song Sales chart, No. 8 on Billboard‘s Hot Rock Songs chart, and broke into The Billboard 200 – becoming a cultural phenomenon and viral sensation. Their soundtrack album charted on Billboard’s Top 10 Soundtrack Albums, Top 20 Current Albums, Top 20 Album Sales, and rose to No. 1 on iTunes in every major territory worldwide, amassing over half a billion streams. They headlined the 2021 Krakow Film Music Festival, performing “The Witcher Suite” live with a symphony orchestra to a sold-out crowd. Following the viral success of their soundtrack, Sonya & Giona signed to Sony Music, releasing their album “A Mighty Heart Beating Like A Drum.”
Sonya & Giona’s work spans Millennium’s RED SONJA reboot, based on the comic book icon; the NBC drama THE THING ABOUT PAM starring Oscar winner Renée Zellweger; Matthew Weiner’s THE ROMANOFFS for Amazon MGM Studios featuring an all-star cast: Christina Hendricks, Isabelle Huppert, Aaron Eckhart, Amanda Peet, Kathryn Hahn, and Diane Lane; Blumhouse’s thriller SACRED LIES with Juliette Lewis; Paramount’s adaptation of Stephen King’s THE MIST; among other standout series and films.
