“I learnt with great sadness the passing of Sir Neville Marriner, the founder and conductor of the internationally acclaimed chamber orchestra, the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields. Having been a member of the orchestra for 10 years, performing all around the world, he was a wonderful artistic and business mentor and influence for me personally. It was whilst working with the Academy on The English Patient that I fell in love with the art of film music; shortly afterwards he encouraged me to start COOL Music. As such I will always be grateful for his enthusiasm, humour and generosity.”
