Three-time Primetime Emmy nominees Thomas Mizer and Curtis Moore are an accomplished composing and storytelling team whose work has appeared on stages and screens around the world. Most recently, they returned as official songwriters for the fifth and final season of the acclaimed Prime Video series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, winning the 2023 World Soundtrack Award for Best Original Song—the first time a composition for television has won this honor in the 22-year history of the event. Their original songs for the fourth season included “Maybe Monica,” which was named the 2022 Hollywood Music in Media Awards Best Original Song Written for Television.
Recipients of the prestigious Fred Ebb Award “for excellence in musical theatre songwriting,” Mizer & Moore’s stage credits include commissions from Lincoln Center and the Williamstown Theater Festival as well as residencies with the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center, the Mercer Writers Colony at Goodspeed Musicals and the American Music Theatre Project at their alma mater, Northwestern University. Named a Richard Rodgers Award Finalist, their romantic mystery Triangle premiered at TheatreWorks Silicon Valley to rave reviews, and went on to receive six Theatre Bay Area Awards including “Outstanding World Premiere Musical.” They are currently working on a number of new theater pieces, including musicals for Universal Theatrical Group and Michael Cassel Group.
On his own, Curtis’s composition credits include Venice at The Public Theater, Nora Ephron’s Broadway play Lucky Guy starring Tom Hanks, Sam Mendes’ acclaimed world-tour of Richard III, Todd Solondz’s film Palindromes, and the current FOX animated series HouseBroken.
