Chris Roe’s soundtrack to ‘Blue Jean’, the critically acclaimed directorial debut film from Georgia Oakley, has just been released as a limited edition cassette. The release is a collaboration between Dubois Records and Day Dreamer and copies of the cassette are available online here and in-store at the British Film Institute, London.
‘Set in the 1980’s, Blue Jean stars Rosy McEwen as Jean, a PE teacher forced to lead a double life and hide her sexuality at a time when Margaret Thatcher’s Conservative Government are about to pass the Section 28 bill to prohibit the “promotion of homosexuality” by local authorities. When a new student threatens to expose her, Jean is pushed to extreme lengths to protect her job and integrity.’
